Everett is driven by the desire to help others through life’s challenges and transitions. Life is a journey, yet it is not always an easy road to follow, and obstacles can block progress. Depression, anxiety, trauma, and major transitions in life are some of the many examples of life’s difficulties that can negatively affect a person’s mental health. Seeking help through counseling is a strength that can help people get back on the path that they want to be on. He views counseling as a collaborative process where the client and counselor work together towards achieving the clients’ goals. He will foster a safe, authentic, and empathetic counseling environment through evidence based, and other best practices of the counseling field.
Everett is open to working with a diverse range of clients, including but not limited to those struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational loss, attachment issues, and building healthier relationships. After 20 + years in the U.S. Army, he is especially passionate about working with military, veteran, and first responder clients.
Outside of his academic, professional, and counseling pursuits, Everett enjoys spending time with people, being in nature, exercising, learning, research, travel, and good food. He believes that it is important to learn from the past and to plan for the future, without trying to live life in either. Finding a balance in life and enjoying it in the present moment is a goal that is very important to him. He believes in a holistic approach to well-being, building connections with his clients and is honored to meet each of his clients where they are in life’s journey.
