I provide mental health counseling services for individuals ten and up, couples, and families. Areas of special interest include eating disorders, manifestations of childhood trauma (i.e., poor self-esteem, struggles in interpersonal relationships, shame, difficulty understanding and tolerating one’s emotions, etc.), emotional abuse and neglect, anxiety disorders, and depression. I generally take a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to treatment, but I integrate other therapy modalities as appropriate to help you meet your goals.
As a counselor, I see myself as a fellow traveler, and I believe healing often happens in the context of relationships. I understand allowing someone to join any part of your journey, especially the painful parts, can be scary and involves risk. I strive to create an environment where people feel safe, noticed, understood, and validated. It is such an honor to experience firsthand humans’ capacity for insight, resilience, meaning-making, and change, even having experienced the most difficult of personal histories.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Park University, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU).
