My experience in this field has allowed me to work with diverse populations and a wide range of concerns. Over time, I’ve developed a strong connection to working with men, first responders, and athletes. While I work with many others, I feel especially drawn to these groups. As a man, I bring personal insight into challenges men often face—relationship struggles, emotional awareness, porn use, anger, feeling stuck, and the pressure to provide. These issues aren’t exclusive to men, but I frequently hear them from male clients. My perspective helps me relate in a way that feels familiar and validating. Some of my most meaningful work has been with first responders. My family has served in these roles for generations, giving me a deep understanding of the personal toll the job can take. Though I’m not a first responder myself, my close connection to the culture offers an understanding, empathetic view that resonates with clients in the field. This work has also deepened my understanding of trauma, benefiting all my clients.
I also enjoy working with athletes. My undergraduate focus in sport psychology prepared me to support issues like motivation, injury recovery, performance, and identity after sports. Athletes are some of my favorite people to work with, and I understand how demanding that lifestyle can be—especially when life throws you a curveball. Though I highlight these groups, my work isn’t limited to them. There’s often overlap between populations, and I’m always open to a conversation to see if we’re the right fit!
